We are pleased to invite you to the Workshop organised by Studium Genetics on Friday 16 May, 2 p.m., at Expodental 2025 entitled:

Early diagnosis and prognosis of oral carcinoma: the SG-OCRA test

The SG-OCRA test in the early diagnosis and prognosis of oral cavity carcinomas.

14:25-14:45 – Prof. Achille Tarsitano, Department of Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences, University of Bologna; IRCCS Azienda University Hospital of Bologna - Policlinico di Sant'Orsola:
Oral brushing in oral carcinoma: scope of application.

Abstract:
Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is usually diagnosed at an advanced stage (stage III and IV), associated with a poor prognosis. If the disease is identified at earlier stages earlier stages (stage I or II), the five-year overall survival rate is five years is more than 80%. Studium Genetics has developed and patented, after 10 years of research and clinical validation clinical validation, the Oral Carcinoma Risk Algorithm (SG-OCRA™), a method for the early detection of patients with oral carcinoma or its precursor: high-grade dysplasia. The innovation is based on the quantitative analysis of DNA methylation by parallel sequencing (NGS) of 13 genes. The starting material starting material consists of cells taken from the oral mucosa with a toothbrush, making the test absolutely non-invasive.
