Studium Genetics' SG-OCRA technology awarded at the joint AOOM-EAOM 2025 congress in Las Vegas

Studium Genetics and the University of Bologna - Alma Mater Studiorum are pleased to announce the participation and recognition obtained at the prestigious 2025 Joint Meeting of the American Academy of Oral Medicine (AAOM) and the European Association of Oral Medicine (EAOM), held in Las Vegas from 14 to 17 May 2025. Two scientific studies developed with the support of Studium Genetics' proprietary SG-OCRA (TM) technology were selected for presentation at the congress:

  • Identification of Oral Potentially Malignant Diseases (OPMDs) Epigenetic Profile for Diagnostic and Prognostic Purposes Using Oral Brushing and DNA-Methylation Analysis (oral presentation)
  • DNA Methylation Analysis from Oral Brushing as a Useful Tool for Early Detection of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

The event was attended by leading international organisations in the field - including the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia (OMAA), the Brazilian Society of Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology (SOBEP), the Japanese Society of Oral Medicine (JSOM), the Saudi Society of Oral Medicine (SSOM) the Mexican Association of Oral Pathology and Medicine (MAOMP), the Canadian Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Medicine (CAOMPOM) and the World Workshop of Oral Medicine (WWOM).

The work on epigenetic profiling of Oral Potentially Malignant Diseases (OPMDs) received the award for best oral presentation in one of the congress categories.

This award confirms the scientific and clinical impact of innovative technologies developed in Italy and the commitment of the University of Bologna and Studium Genetics in translational research for the early diagnosis and prevention of oral cancer.
